Does Putting Ps4 In Rest Mode Download Games Faster

Does PS4 genuinely download games faster in rest mode?

All I've heard is anecdotal evidence. Does anybody have hard proof or can confirm this?

What happens in rest mode is it suspends any running games/applications.
If a game or awarding has any kind of network functions, even only hitting a server for leaderboards, the PlayStation severely limits background tasks like downloads.
Additionally, a watched pot never boils.

when i started the download for red dead, it said the download would take 96 hours. i placed it in rest mode, and it downloaded in 5 hours while i slept.

I believe so, whenever I need to download something I plough the PS4 to restmode and come back in 20 minutes when it said it would take an hr. And then I believe information technology works.

Difficult proof? I don't have it only I downloaded RDR2 regularly then deleted it considering I had no space for BO4. Re installed but on Remainder Manner and it was noticeably faster.

I can only assume that in Balance Mode all the internet capabilities of your PS4 are dedicated to the download.

I can agree that it does , 9:30pm I started a download of the "data to offset application" portion of CoD Cold War which was 100+ GB and it said 4hrs and the multiplayer base said like x-20mins or something pocket-size …. Moral of the story, at 10:30pm, In that one hr , that 4 hours went to "30mins left" and it got to the second portion of the "data to offset application" part which is basically almost done (about 30mins or so left)
